Audubon's Cuvier's Kinglet Mystery Bird Glass Tree Decoration
This vintage reproduction of John James Audubon’s Plate 55 from Birds of America showcases the enigmatic Cuvier’s Kinglet, also known as Cuvier’s Regulus, perched delicately on a mountain laurel branch adorned with pink blossoms. One of Audubon’s “mystery birds,” the true identity of this species remains unknown to this day. Despite Audubon’s remarkable ability to accurately document over 400 bird species, Cuvier’s Kinglet has never been rediscovered since Audubon (supposedly) collected a specimen in Pennsylvania in 1812, naming it after the famed French zoologist Georges Cuvier.
Audubon described the bird as having a dark forehead with striped markings similar to the Golden-crowned Kinglet, but with a striking red crown. Its resemblance to both the Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned Kinglets has left ornithologists debating whether it was a unique species, a hybrid, or perhaps a bird that has since gone extinct. The mountain laurel, native to the eastern United States, adds to the charm of this mysterious bird, with its vibrant pink spring blossoms symbolizing renewal and beauty.
This fascinating artwork captures the intrigue of Audubon’s ornithological achievements and the mysteries of nature, making it a captivating “one of a kind” piece for bird enthusiasts, art collectors, and those drawn to the stories behind Audubon’s iconic illustrations.

Glass Hexagon Ornament
Creator Review
I like the look and the weight of this glass Christmas ornament. It came with a white ribbon for hanging. It's very shiny on the front and a little more matte on the back where it was printed. Looks nice on the tree with a light behind it. The printing is very good for being done on glass. I think it could be a tad bit darker in some areas compared to the product view on the site. But I guess light colors would be problematic on a translucent surface no matter what. I'm happy with it.

Glass Hexagon Ornament
My daughter's horse died this year so I bought this ornament for her as a keepsake. I think it is perfect and I hope she will like it. Even though it is going to be a reminder of her loss.

Ceramic Circle Ornament
This ornament will be just perfect next year after we move into our new house. It is a glass ornament and it is very colorful. I could also choose what font I wanted to use for our name and address, along with the font and color I wanted. I like it very very much!
