Azurest 75th Anniversary T Shirt

2022 marks the Azurest Property Owners Association’s (APOA) celebration of our founding 75 years ago. During a period of limited access to resort locations, African Americans from the greater New York area chose to develop their own safe-haven to provide a peaceful and secure summer neighbourhood for the enjoyment of family and friends. The collaboration of sisters, Amaza Lee Meredith and Maude K. Terry along with the Gale family, lead to the creation of a unique legacy spawning two additional neighbouring developments that share multigenerational unity. Their vision resulted in a federal and state recognised historic area known as SANS (Sag Harbour Hills, Azurest and Ninevah) the three contiguous bay front communities that share a similar history and ideals.
