With the ability to tolerate temperatures below minus thirty degrees Celsius hundreds of Canadian geese stay year round on the river that runs threw the small city of Medicine Hat Alberta, Canada where I live. The power plant outflow at the west edge of town keeps a fairly large stretch of water open, the ducks and geese crowd together on the warm water when they are not out feeding in the fields.
