Baby Antelope

There is nothing more precious and vulnerable than a baby of any species. This beautiful antelope calf is also called a marshbuck or sitatunga. Members of this species (Tragelaphus spekii) are swamp-dwelling antelope that populate central Africa. Sitatunga live in thickly vegetated, muddy swamps and marshes and are very good swimmers. They may take to the water to evade predators such as leopards or wild dogs, lying submerged in pools with only their nostrils above the surface.
