Cute animal baby wildlife note cards. In October of 1975, the mother of this little orangutan appeared on the cover of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazine, holding the hand of Dr. Birute Galdikas. Now, many years later, that 1975 baby is still having babies of her own, living in the wild. On one of my trips to Borneo, I took this photo of Akmad's baby --named Atlas -- as they ate rambutans - thus the fleck of food on his forehead. Orangutans are one of the three great apes (sometimes mistakenly called monkeys) and are an endangered species. Purchase of this product benefits orangutan rescue and eventual release into protected areas of the rain forest since the artist donates her profits to Orangutan Foundation International.
