Backyard Cherry Plums is one in a series of still life portraits of fruit, picked from the yards of family and friends. These cherry plums are from the tree in the backyard of my childhood home. Its pink blossoms that began their bloom anytime from late January to early February, were the first indication of the spring season.. The original photograph was rendered into a digital “block” painting – a modern, minimalist study that celebrates the beauty and nature of this delightful homegrown fruit. The back of the card features actual Nutrition Facts that includes its 100% Intangible Value based on daily gratification.
