Baermann's Scale Secret: Dad's Eternal Lesson Mug

Baermann's Scale Secret: Dad's Eternal Lesson Mug

The Musical Roots of a Clarinet Legend: Heinrich Baermann (1784–1847) was the most celebrated clarinetist of his generation, known for his beautiful tone and virtuosity. He was a close friend and collaborator of Carl Maria von Weber, who wrote his concertos and concertinos specifically for Baermann. Heinrich passing on his knowledge and discipline to his son, Carl, was a natural progression in their family's distinguished musical lineage. The Ultimate Clarinet Inside Joke: Carl Baermann (1810-1885) followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a renowned performer and pedagogue himself. But he is immortalised in the clarinet world for one monumental work: the Complete Method for the Clarinet, Op. 63. Generations of clarinetists, from professionals to students, have built their technique on its rigourous scale and arpeggio studies. The irony of Heinrich telling the future author of the definitive clarinet technique book to "practice your scales" is a subtle, perfect joke that only true clarinet geeks will appreciate!

I loved designing this mug using images stored on Zazzle. Was able to choose the font for the name and uplaod a background for behind the name, and a fabulous image of a black and white horse. It came out beautifully well and I was well pleased.

An attractive good quality item. The recipient is delighted with it, liked the humorous caption and has put it into use straight away. Very clear design and print with good colour quality.
