Basilica of Sainte Anne de Beaupre, Quebec, Canada Plaque
Set along the Saint Lawrence River, the Basilica of Saint Anne de Beaupre is one of five national shrines of Canada. It was initially built as a shrine to Saint Anne in 1658 and has many testimonies of healings & miracles that still occur at the basilica. The original was destroyed in a fire in 1922, and the present-day basilica was completed in 1946. It is a major place of pilgrimage for Roman Catholics. The architecture is beautiful inside & out! Photo taken February 2012.
