Beer United Kingdom Postcard
Beer is a charming fishing village located on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Devon. It is famous for its shingle beach where fishing boats are still winched up onto the shore, as there is no traditional harbour. The village is surrounded by white chalk cliffs that provide a striking contrast to the blue waters of the bay.
The town's name actually derives from the Old English word 'bearu', meaning 'grove'. Known for its local Beer Stone used in cathedrals across the country, the village today is a peaceful retreat filled with seafood shacks and traditional pubs, all nestled within a sheltered natural cove.
