Bendery Fortress in Moldova Postcard

This postcard features the Bendery Fortress in Moldova. It is one of the oldest constructions in Pridnestrovie, an outstanding monument of forti- fication architecture. The citadel of the fortress was built by the mediaeval Genoese, and after Bendery became part of the Ottoman Empire in 1538, the castle was significantly rebuilt by the Turks.
