BF-109G Franz Stigler Profile Canvas Print

German ace Franz Stigler changed the life of 9 American airmen when he flew his BF-109 alongside a badly crippled enemy B-17 (named "Ye Olde Pub"), and instead of shooting it down, Stigler escorted the barely airworthy enemy to safe passage. The tailgunner was already dead, but Stigler could see other wounded airmen through the gaping holes in the fuselage. The bomber was in such pitiful condition, that Stigler couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger, and his story remained unknown for decades. Eventually the story was told, and Stigler and Capt. Charles Brown (The aircraft commander of "Ye Olde Pub") met and became the very best of friends.
