Bicycle playing cards

Mokko is also called yokoboke and is the most commonly used among the boke family crests / In Takazawa's "Dictionary of Family Crests", wood sorrel, quince, and hawk feather are considered the three major family crests, while in Niwa's "Basic Knowledge of Family Names and Crests", wisteria, quince, and wood sorrel are considered the three major family crests / Reference 1: The quince crest was originally called "kuwa" and was introduced from China as a clothing pattern, which became the pattern on the misu (blind) mokko, and was later used as a standard and called the misu mokko crest, and eventually the character misu was dropped and it was called the mokko crest, and the character boke was assigned to it and it became widely used. (Kuwa means nest, and while a nest in a tree is called a "su", a nest on the ground is called a "kuwa". The character "kuwa" was used for the pattern because its shape resembles a kuwa egg.) / Reference 2: The quince crest originated from the pattern on the cloth "moko" that surrounded the misu, and it is a mistake to think that it is generally modeled after the cross-section of a boke or a cucumber.
