The Guam Kingfisher is a small species of kingfisher once found on the island of Guam. The introduction of the Brown Tree Snake to Guam decimated many native species on Guam, including this kingfisher which is extinct in the wild since 1986. Our cute cartoon version of this special bird represents the female plumage; males are similar with all rufous underparts (lacking the white on the female belly).
