Birmingham and Faseley Canal UK Waterways Blue Tea Towel

Birmingham and Faseley Canal UK Waterways Blue Tea Towel

Birmingham and Faseley Canal Route Map UK Waterways Blue. The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal forms part of the Warwickshire Ring and links Birmingham with the East Midlands. Engineer John Smeaton completed its construction in 1789. It connects with the Birmingham Canal Navigations (BCN) at ‘Old Turn Junction’ near the ‘National Indoor Arena’ joining the Coventry Canal at Fazeley near Tamworth. There are 38 locks and one tunnel in this 15 mile length of the canal, 13 of them in the Aston Flight, and at ‘Farmers Bridge’ where the canal dives below the city centre buildings and railway arches. There is a pretty rural flight of 7 more at Curdworth with the ‘Dog and Doublet Pub’ at the bottom. The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal was, and still is, of strategic importance to the inland waterway network, no more so than at Salford Junction. To the south east are Garrison Locks heading down to the Grand Union. To the West is the Tame Valley Canal, which used to be the navigation ‘Motorway’ past Birmingham. Then above is ‘Spaghetti Junction’ on the M6 Motorway confirming the canal builders and modern road builders decision that this was the ideal place to join up the national networks.

I was delighted with the beautiful tea towels, the design looked really lovely. I adore garden ponds and these towels and other products I ordered with the same design will bring me so much pleasure. My garden is too small for a real pond. If you love ponds and wildlife this design is for you!

They absorb so well and wash up really nicely not losing their colour at all. They are expensive but in my opinion they are well worth the money. Yes they turned out perfectly to match my new kitchen
