Birth of Stars Cosmic Creation Blue Star Cluster Tie

A star is born! This is star cluster R136, found in the Tarantula Nebula, about 160,000 light years from earth, where the birth of stars is occuring at a fantastic rate. The blue stars are very luminous, lighting up the swirling red and gold coloured clouds of gasses that form the nebula. As these stars are being born, others in a nearby cluster are aging and going supernova. As they do they create the clouds, which are also composed of cosmic dust and particles.
