Folded birthday card inspired by an Egyptian style ornamental flower found in a 19th century pattern book (Auguste Racinet, L' ornement polychrome, 1869-1873).
The blue lotus, also called the sacred blue lily, is very important in Egyptian mythology. Since the flowers are closed at night and open again in the morning, the flower is regarded as a symbol for the sun, creation and rebirth.

This card is great fun and good quality. I loved the humour inside and on the back. There is the opportunity to change the orientation of this card from landscape to portrait, which I did. It is relatively straightforward to amend the typeface to fit the new orientation. It was well packaged with no plastic. The printing on this card is excellent.
