Water from the hot springs and geysers constantly pours into the Firehole River. Biscuit Basin is an isolated thermal group of interesting geysers and hot springs and is part of the Upper Geyser Basin. If you look carefully, you can see tourists on a boardwalk on the right side of the photograph, was taken September 9, 2022. A hydrothermal explosion happened around 10 a.m., July 23, 2024, in Biscuit Basin, a collection of hot springs a couple miles north of the famous Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Biscuit Basin was closed for the rest of the summer. Similar blasts have happened in Biscuit Basin in 2009, 1991 and after the magnitude 7.2 Hebgen Lake earthquake 40 miles (64 kilometres) away in 1959.
