Beautiful Male Black Swallowtail Butterfly. Male because of their yellow spots oppose to the blue spots on bottom wings of female black swallowtails. Their host plant is the parsley plant. They have large black wings, curled antennae, and 6 legs. Fly fast. As a caterpillar they are bright green with black stripes and spots. I took this photograph of a male when he was just born within 10-15 min. Put him on my finger, and placed him on a milkweed flower in case he wanted a drink.
