Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) Standing close to four feet high, the Great Blue is one of the most majestic of birds. Their diet is mosty fish but it will eat a variety of insects and even small animals. This fine-looking fellow is a frequent visitor to the pond out back of our house here in central Florida.
