Leaf from Book of Hours, Illuminated manuscript showing Joseph leading Mary and the child Jesus on a donkey on the Flight into Egypt. Mary wears a blue cloak while Joseph carries a staff and wears a red cloak. The baby Jesus is dressed in gold. The landscape is detailed in French mediaeval style with cliffs, a river and rolling hills. The holy family have halos above their heads. The Christ child sits in the Virgin Mary's lap.
