Borage is a hardy annual with fuzzy leaves that smell like cucumber. In the past, the leaves were used to flavour wine, and today are an essential ingredient in Pimms No. 1. The flowers can be frozen into ice cubes or crystallised for cake decoration. But beware of overindulgence! Borage is also medicinal, and an overdose can cause liver damage.
