Borobudur is a magnificent 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple located in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. As the world's largest Buddhist temple, it stands as a monumental testament to ancient Indonesian architecture, artistry, and spiritual devotion. Built from millions of volcanic stone blocks, the structure is designed as a massive pyramid mandala, guiding pilgrims through three levels of Buddhist cosmology—Kamadhatu, Rupadhatu, and Arupadhatu—via stone staircases and corridors adorned with thousands of exquisite narrative relief panels.
