Buckhorn Wash Petroglyph Coffee Mug
The art here is comprised of two absolutely splendid petroglyphs from Buckhorn draw in the San Rafael Swell in central Utah. I've combined these glyphs because one shows a solar story, as it were, and the other a lunar eclipse story. The image with what is clearly a giant snake depicts the serpent biting off the arm or Sun Man. To make the story clear, the sun sign -- a circle with cross bars -- is faded away, clearly intending to show an eclipse. The other pictograph shows what I call Sun Man who has his right arm extended to radiate sunlight. His left arm is connected to a the coil of time and is also attached to his head with records or remember the passage of time. But what about the feet? One human and the other solar? What do you think?
