Call to Paradise by Mike Massengale Poster
Call to Paradise is a series of paintings that represent poster art of the 1940’s and the 1950’s. I use a series of S curves similar to that of cartoonist to create movement and rhythm though out the composition and figures, much like the wall murals of Thomas Hart Benton. The colours in the images blend the backgrounds and figures together to build visual interest. Many other artists state that my colour work is that of Van Gogh. Just like him, I flip my values so that there is tension between forms. Some of the painting strokes are broad while many are very thin and detailed. Art Buyers (and art lovers) will see the symbolic stories of yesterday and today. The series is about relaxing and enjoying the moment. I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame.
This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again.
One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up.
Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font.
Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
