Camp Leakey Tanjung Puting National Park Square Sticker

This orangutan status is the welcome sign for travel to Tanjung Puting National Park on the island of Borneo. This is actually Kalimantan, Indonesua. Camp Leakey is the site of the longest, continuous studuy of orangutans, the gentle redhaired great apes. It was built by Dr. Birute Mary Galdikas , who is one of the three women chosen by Dr. Louiseto syudy the great apes. The other two were Jane Goodall (who worked with chimps and is the subject of the new National Geographic documentary "Jane,") and the late Dian Fossey )who worked with the mountain gorillas and was portrayed in the movie "Gorillas in the Mist").
