Canada Flag Canadian Colours Red White Maple Leaf Magnet

Three colours, red and white for the flag and black for the snowcapped text, for Canada Day July 1 or any day you please! About the design: The red maple leaf design with side borders has been the official flag of Canada since 1965. Before that, the maple leaf was already a part of Canadian national identity. French settlers adopted a green leaf as their emblem, and English settlers chose a gold one. You can still see gold maple leaves on the Ontario provincial flag. There are ten native species of maple in Canada. The stylised broad leaf on the flag represents them all but most closely resembles a sugar maple leaf. The sugar maple is tapped for sap to make our famous and fabulous Canadian maple syrup. You can also eat the seeds or keys, and the inner bark of the tree if you're roughing it in the bush. Other maple species include the silver maple, red maple, vine maple and the hardy Manitoba maple (known as Boxelder in the US). Great design for Canadians and those who love us.
