This Oil painting depicts the beautiful Lighthouses Cape Lookout in North Carolina. When creating a lighthouse scene, my focus is on the composition and atmosphere of the piece. Creating a successful seascape sometimes calls for changing the actual landscape that is surrounding the building into a simple rock formation. That allows the needed space to paint the powerful movement and action of the waves I use the water and sky as the visual vehicle that creates the atmosphere of the painting. All these different aspects create a well-rounded and effective ocean scene.
