A pair of carbonated warbler birds sit perched in a service tree with red berries. The carbonated-swamp warbler is one of the mysterious birds that Audubon encountered and classified. We do know that these were two male birds that Audubon spotted in Kentucky. They may be two immature Cape May Warblers, but no one knows for sure. This is Plate 60 of John James Audubon's Birds of America series.
