There is no painting involved with this artwork, circa 1868-1912 from the Meiji Period in Japan. 'Carp in Waves' is excellence in Japanese silk tapestry. It resides at The Cleveland Museum of Art in Ohio. This is a wonderful piece of vintage Japanese fish art.
