Cat and Butterfly Chinese Painting Card
This painting done by my maternal grandfather shows a walking cat whose gaze is caught by a butterfly above. Done in ink and ink washes, this is one of a few paintings we have of his in the family collection. The inscription might be a poetic phrase about working hard, but also enjoying the sunshine and beauty of the spring. My grandfather was known as a political cartoonist in China the 1900's.
