Cattleya skinneri by Bateman Orchid Print

The original painting of the Cattleya skinneri was by James Bateman for "The Orchidaceae of Mexico and Guatemala". The botanical depiction of this remarkable orchid, was painted in the field, then printed as a lithograph by J. Ridgway & Sons in 1837. This is a modern print of the original litho. If you place this item in your cart, you'll have the option of choosing a frame. You may want to check out my Cycnoches ventricosum with it's yellow flowers - it's the same size, from the same artist and was published in the same book. They would make a great pair.

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame. This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again. One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up. Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font. Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
