Ceramic Drawer/Door Pull - Magenta Zinnia
The zinnia plant, both flowers and leaves, were used by many southwestern tribes as medicinal and ritual herbs. Some have said that the Navajo tribe considers the zinnia one of the sacred life medicines. Still other, Pueblo, tribes are thought to believe the zinnia a symbol of wisdom. We do know, however, that zinnias were used by some southwestern tribes to make brightly-coloured dyes and paints. The zinnia, itself, is representative of lasting friendship, affection, constancy and goodness. The magenta or dark pink zinnia, specifically, symbolises lasting love. The colour, magenta, is one of universal harmony and emotional balance. As a combination of red and violet, it pulls from the passion and power of red while still being a little reined in by the introspection and quiet energy of the purple. From 1931 to 1957, the lovely zinnia also had the distinction of being the Indiana State Flower. It was replaced by the peony in 1957. This bold and beautiful bloom adds a strong pop of colour to the white ceramic of this charming drawer/door pull and is even more dramatic when paired with the other pulls in this collection.

Refurbishing our kitchen, we re-used some old Mexican drawer knobs we loved, but were short of four, so chose these as they looked as if they would happily co-exist with the old ones - and they do. Colour was very slightly lighter than the picture., but not enough to worry us.
