Choshi in the Simosa province, 1760-184. This is part of Hokusai's Chie no umi ("Oceans of Wisdom", also known as "A Thousand Views of the Sea and Waterside") series. Katsushika Hokusai (~October 31, 1760 – May 10, 1849) was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period.
