Jenny Nyström, Kälkåkande barn (Children sledding). Watercolour and gouache. Signed Jenny Nyström and dated 1910. The picture shows two children, a boy and a girl, at the top of a sled run. You can see they have been sledding for quite a while, their clothes are snowy and perhaps even a little bit wet. But I don't think they can feel the cold. Their happy faces tell us that they're having a great time. Behind the children is a beautiful winter forest. Sunlight is shining through the snow covered tree branches. Winter in the Nordics, as I remember it. Kind of a nostalgic picture.
