Christmas Madonna and Child Della Robbia Garland Tree Decoration Card

This is a flat reproduction of the tondo relief in glazed terracotta, "Madonna col Bambino benedicente" ("Madonna and Child Blessing"), from La Verna Sanctuary, created by the workshop of Andrea and Giovanni della Robbia, circa 1492, now in the public domain. Virgin Mary sustains baby Jesus, who stand up and raises his right hand in a blessing gesture. The scene is surrounded by a garland of fruits (quinces, pears, lemons, grapes), pine cones, cucumbers and flowers. The characters are white, the background is blue, the leaves are green, the fruits are yellow (except the grapes). On the back, there is a message, white on blue, in an elegant calligraphy, surrounded by the same fruit garland.
