The girl is smiling at her brother, and the boy is looking at the viewer as his sister watches him lovingly. The young kids are sitting in bed together as they enjoy the festivities of Christmas. There are Christmas crackers on the bedsheets that the children have pulled. There is also a bowl of fruit in front of them. The children both have brown hair and they are both wearing white nightclothes. It is a beautiful depiction of a traditional Christmas celebration in Victorian England.
