Postcard inspired by a charming fairy tale illustration by Swedish artist Jenny Nyström (Askepott / Cinderella. circa 1890). The picture shows Cinderella, with golden curls and her dress in rags, sitting in front of the fireplace. A flock of birds is helping her with the task her stepmother has given her, to pick lentils out of the ashes and put them in a pot. The caption to the right of the image is from the Brothers Grimm's version of the fairy tale: The birds began pick, pick, pick and gathered all the good grain into the dish.
