City - Rochester NY - National Theatre 1908 Postcard

Colourized photo from 1908 Original Title: Main Street, Rochester, NY Photographer: Detroit Publishing Location: 75 W. Main St, Rochester, NY This is Main Street in Rochester, NY in 1908. Surprisingly a lot of it is still intact, or at least lasted a good long while. On the right corner, that was the Rochester hotel, built 1907 and demolished in 1999, it had 300 rooms and was $1.50 a night. The National Theatre opened on Dec 22 1902, and it changed names about 6 times over the years and was finally demolished in 1980. The next building with the odd curved roof, is the Rochester savings bank, built in 1844. It was described as a "fancy wedding cake", located on the SW corner of West Main & Fitzhugh streets. The all cement building is the Monroe County building and its still there today. The red one next to that is the Union Trust building, also still standing. Also still standing is that fancy building right behind the theatre, you can barely see it in this but today you can see all of it as there no buildings obstructing the view. If you look very carefully you'll see a soda bottle on a ledge on the hotel on the right.

Bought 10 Shakespeare quotes postcards and have framed them individually and placed them around the house Love them, some are funny and some are deep and meaningful! Lovely background on some, excellent printed words. A couple of plain white cards with black print - very stricking

My order was probably an awkward one! I asked for a range of different fine-art prints, in postcard size. It was all freshly printed, delivered quickly and at a very reasonable price. Best quality matt finish I've seen on a fine-art print.

These cards are great quality, I use them as enclosure cards for my business! Hey are a little pricey but you definitely get the quality and professionalism! Repurchased a few times now and will continue to do so :). Beautiful, nice sheen on them, sharp and clear
