A quirky T-Shirt with a Vintage Space Age commemorative Soviet envelope, featuring Belka and Strelka, "Day of Cosmonautics", Kharkov 1963. The two astronaut dogs, Belka and Strelka, spent a day in space aboard Korabl-Sputnik-2 (Sputnik 5) on August 19th 1960, before safely returning to Earth. They were accompanied by a grey rabbit, 42 mice, 2 rats, flies and a number of plants and fungi. All passengers survived. They were the first Earth-born creatures to go into orbit and return alive. I bought this as a gift last Christmas and since then it has been washed many times and I haven't seen any stretching or tears. The size fits perfectly. The printing is excellent. The item was heavier than I thought, which is a good thing. A lot of t-shirts these days are made from low quality thin cotton which don't last. This is much thicker cotton that should last much longer. The print was centred perfectly. It is a good size and the colours are nice and vibrant. Exactly as the image shows.
