Coast Guard Station Gloucester located in Gloucester, Massachusetts. In service since 1977. The station has three assets: 2 X 47-foot Motor Lifeboats (MLB) & 1-Defender Class Boat aka RBS. In order to respond to "SAR" search and rescue in heavy weather the 47' MLB is utilised. The RBS is utilised to gain entry into shallow waters. Many books and movies have revolved around the station, most notably; The 2000 Film "The Perfect Storm".
