About This Design
Come into my Parlour Damp Pink Armchair Urban Art Postcard
An old damp pink armchair sits outside against the wall, beside a compost bin. The ground is littered with twigs and bits of garbage. Wryly humourous, a tongue in cheek look at urban squalor. The sad truth is that there are many people in this town who have nowhere to live, and I've been close to being one too, so I did a series of these photos and called them my kitchen, my bathroom, etc. This is my parlour. As an artist I take hundreds of pics of my environment whatever it happens to be, for no other reason than I see an intrinsic beauty in it as well as a base flat reality, these concepts vying for supremacy. It's a balancing act. Activity levels are hight in the urban setting, and the environment changes constantly and of mysteriously. This is a light Pop Art style, a unique perspective with a dark undercurrent. If you're not familiar with Pop Art, it's hard to explain briefly but it's an urban art genre that emerged in Britain the 1950s and boomed in America in the 60s. There many different kinds of Pop Art. Fundamentally this dynamic artistic style uses elements of popular culture and themes of repetition (manufacturing) found objects, everyday items, food, comic books. Pop Art is born of the contemporary environment. It uses modern technological processes of production, for example photography, video, computer graphics. Pop Art takes nothing seriously, not even itself. This style uses flaws and errors as creative media. Pop Art interprets reality in a satirical and refreshing way. This genuine shabby chic design is great for anyone who enjoys modern expressive artworks, Pop Art, dark humour and life in the urban jungle. And all this, because somebody threw out an old pink chair. Come into my parlour. Original photo art by M Sylvia Chaume, Canada.

Bought 10 Shakespeare quotes postcards and have framed them individually and placed them around the house Love them, some are funny and some are deep and meaningful! Lovely background on some, excellent printed words. A couple of plain white cards with black print - very stricking

My order was probably an awkward one! I asked for a range of different fine-art prints, in postcard size. It was all freshly printed, delivered quickly and at a very reasonable price. Best quality matt finish I've seen on a fine-art print.

These cards are great quality, I use them as enclosure cards for my business! Hey are a little pricey but you definitely get the quality and professionalism! Repurchased a few times now and will continue to do so :). Beautiful, nice sheen on them, sharp and clear
