This is the beautiful comet Hale-Bopp (Taken Feb 1997). The photo shows the comet in a night sky full of stars. It also makes a very attractive landscape photograph with the outlines of bare trees in the foreground. The twin tails (dust and ion tails) of the comet can clearly be seen. This photograph won "Picture of the Month in a popular UK astronomy magazine - Astronomy Now. This photograph makes an attractive greeting card.
