Conquest (Victorious Knight) Playing Cards
This design features a painting by the English artist Edmund Blair Leighton (1852–1922). It depicts a victorious knight walking proudly through the gates of a castle after he has defeated his enemy. The knight is wearing a full suit of armour and he is carrying a helmet and a sword, his weapons of war. There is a noble lady behind the knight who appears sad, perhaps because her family has been overthrown in the battle. The original artwork was painted in 1884.
