This interesting vehicle is a side dumping car. It was patented in 1919, and it was used for a little while, never really catching on. It didn't carry a large payload, which is probably why it doesn't exist today in this form (though other devices do use a similar design, based off this patent). The truck would carry the cement and drive while it dumped. Currently we use a cement truck and just dump it via a shoot, and its far more effective.
