Conversation Between St. Paisios and St. Euphemia Postcard

Elder Paisios of Mount Athos was praying deeply as he struggled with spiritual and church-related problems. Great-Martyr St. Euphemia appeared to him in his cell. To ensure the visitor was of God, Elder Paisios asked her to confess the Holy Trinity by saying, "Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," which she repeated. She came to give exact solutions to the problems. At the end of the talk, St. Paisios asked how she managed to endure her brutal tortures and martyrdom. St. Euphemia stated that if she had known beforehand the immense beauty and glory of being next to God in eternal life, she would have asked for her martyrdom to last forever, noting it was nothing compared to Divine Grace.
