Initially brought to the shelter as a stray, Corduroy was a volunteer whose previous shelf life is kept in the status for the ter far longer than other cats. In the past, the shelter has transferred FIV+ cats to rescue partners. With progressive changes in shelter policies, Corduroy made history when he became the first FIV+ cat to be adopted directly from the shelter. Though he waited a long time, Corduroy now leisurely hangs in a hammock in California, with a family who adores him.
