About This Design

Critter Wood Playing Cards

This image, Critter Wood, is created from my original photo of a log next to Highway 20 at Deception Pass, in WA. The aged wood shows wonderful grain and a big knot. It looks like some bizarre creature's eyes and textured hide to me. Through a simplified version of my proprietary process that I developed over the last few years, the dry, splintery wood is rendered into this beautiful pattern.
