Seemingly frozen in time, the rustic beach cottages of Crystal Cove are the last remaining example of Southern California beach vernacular architecture. Set along a tranquil curve of beach and sand bluffs in Orange County, this nostalgic group of 22 cottages date back to the 1930s, remaining today as they were in their heyday. Recently restored, Crystal Cove is now a California State Park. Its cottages are listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation. These images started out as photographs of the then dilapidated and condemned seaside colony of Crystal Cove. They were revitalised using multiple natural media filters which created these fine art images.
