The boy is wearing formal dress and he is standing in a garden with lots of greenery around him. There is a big red bow around the boy's neck. The young lad has red hair. The boy is holding peony plants by their stems, in order to show off their distinctive and beautiful flowers. The flowers are various shades of red and pink. The original art was painted by Robert Reid in 1910.
