Daimon T-Shirt

The word „Daimon“ appears in Greek mythology. Unlike the nowadays more popular word „demon“, a daimon is a kind of spirit guide. Sometimes, a daimon can be portrayed like a nature deity, at other times the spirits of deceased heroes are thought of as daimons helping mere mortals. It was only later that the mythical figure and the word „Daimon“ took on a dark and negative meaning. My design plays with both meanings. Especially since those more ambivalent figures seem to fascinate more than others with straight black or white allegiances. Think of vampires, for example, being killers, while at the same time they are heroes of so many books and films. The peacock has a long lineage of closeness to royal and divine figures. For example in India. It plays a very central role in the Yazidi religion as a benevolent angel. Wisdom and immortality are also terms associated with the peacock in Judaism and Christianity. I tried to design this shirt with a mythical and basically positive figure in mind, yet harbouring a certain degree of menace and proud elegance.
